Being Team Rector in North Hinckford allows me to embrace ministry in the most beautiful of rural settings.  I love the village way of life that is friendly, neighbourly and caring with opportunity to get to know people personally.

Living in the countryside enhances my relationship with God as I walk and chat with Him (and my four legged friend Bertie) through the fields and villages.

Living and working in North Hinckford is definitely an invitation to draw close to creation – as the seasons change and the countryside morphs from one colour palate to the next; I can’t help but be moved by the beauty of the earth and the love and care as families, neighbours and communities work together to support one another.

It is an incredible place to feel called to minister and I am excited to see how the Holy Spirit will continue to lead us into new ventures and build up our traditional worshipping communities.

I love rural life having lived in nearby Gosfield for nearly 25 years.

I have two grown up sons, both now living away from home and I enjoy walking and cycling with Tony, my husband and with Bo, our dog (although she can't actually do the  cycling bit!)

I also work as an advice and support worker for a national charity. I joined the North Hinckford team to start my curacy during the summer of 2021.

It’s been such a joy to move into our own home, after a lifetime (for me) of Vicarages!  I’m enjoying getting to grips with the garden, and exploring

the lovely countryside around us, on our daily walks with our dog. I especially love my time each week volunteering in Bulmer School, working with Robins (Year 2) and Owls (Years 5&6).

It’s good to begin to help out in the benefice, getting to know more of the lovely folk in these parts, and seeing where God leads us.

Having spent ten years out of front-line parish ministry before retiring, it is real joy to be settled into the Benefice and ministering in the local churches.  Resources may be stretched in the rural parts of the Church of England, but there is still plenty of life and much to celebrate.

To make sure I exercise both body and soul, I am a member of Sudbury Rowing Club and regularly plough up and down the river there with other ‘older and non-the-wiser’ rowers.

My happy place when things are getting on top has always been the mountains, just like my Christian life it’s always been full of ups, downs and winding pathways. It was only by trudging down one of these well-trodden paths, one we’ve all walked before - to my “wits end” did I find God waiting with answers.

I love working here, I enjoy travelling across the beautiful, peaceful countryside and visiting the parishes of the benefice.

I have just completed the CCS, I look forward to the next steps on God's path for me.

My Sealyham terrier, Alfie, is often seen with me at one of our churches, his favourite time is when I am working at the Rectory or Vicarage when he is able to play with Bertie and Toby!
